Young Canadians (originally The K-Tels) were a Vancouver Punk-Rock band active for just under two years. Influenced not only by the other Punk bands in town at that time such as D.O.A. and Pointed Sticks, but also by The Dolls, The Stooges, and 60s Garage Rock. Although the band only recorded two EPs and a 7" single before breaking up, their single "Hawaii" is one of the classic Canadian punk anthems, appearing on H2D and other timeless compilations. No Escape pretty much covers it all.

Adding some bits to the info - I'd say the first tracks are K-Tels recordings (same band, forced to change the name) - I hate music was on the Vancouver Complication LP and ytacks 4, 5 and 6 were their only single, that only appeared as a freeby with the YC first EP (tracks 10-13). The last record was another EP (16-19). They split in 1981. Anyway, up till now I had only heard a couple of songs, so thank you very much for sharing! And for Stinky Toys LP (I need to hear that original version of Amoureux solitaires!) and Metal Boys. Nice blog, cheers
Fernando :)
